SUMMARY:Escape Room on Elder Abuse
DESCRIPTION:The escape room on elder abuse is an interactive\, educational and immersive space to grapple with the sensitive issue of elder abuse. Small teams of two to four individuals are invited to enter a room\, where they are asked to solve puzzles and riddles together. As they progress in the game\, players learn about some of the forms that elder abuse can take\, and about the resources that are available in the community. This project is based on a collaboration between ACT\, Respecting Elders: Communities against Abuse (RECAA) and the Centre de recherche et d’expertise en gérontologie sociale (CREGÉS). To schedule to play the escape room\, go to https://calendly.com/escaperoomonelderabuse/60min \n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n4TH SPACE\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe 4th Space is located at the corner of De Maisonneuve and MacKay\, and offers a ground level vitrine that invites passers-by into the University. The B/OLD residency in the 4th Space fourth space spans from May 8 to 24\, with many events planned for May 16 and 17. We are collaborating with researchers and community groups to design interactive activities and workshops. \nMetro station: Guy-Concordia\nBus numbers: 15\, 24\, and 165

SUMMARY:B/OLD: Aging in our city
DESCRIPTION:B/OLD: Aging in our city is a free and bilingual two-day event taking place in Montreal\, at Concordia University. It invites citizens\, researchers\, artists\, policy makers and activists to consider what it means to grow older together in the city. \nFrom ‘age friendly cities’\, to ‘smart cities’ and ‘sustainable cities’\, how we live together in urban spaces is on the public agenda. Yet\, questions of innovation and transformation too often focus on young people. \nAs we imagine and create the cities of tomorrow\, what can we do to include the experiences of older people in the conversations we are having today? How do we counter forces of exclusion in later life to create cities that are more just and inclusive? \nB/OLD invites intergenerational exchanges on topics such as housing\, public arts\, inclusion\, digital culture and creative aging. Citizens of all ages are invited to participate in interactive activities\, including panels\, art exhibits and workshops. \nFind more details at www.b-old.ca.
