Josep Blat is Professor in the Department of Information and Communications Technologies at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, and head of the GTI (Interactive Technologies) research group. The group has been conducting research in Human-Computer Interaction with older people for almost a decade, and brings particular expertise in the study of older people ICT learning and use, such as computer-mediated communication tools or social network sites, that takes place in adult centres and computer clubhouses, adopting a strong ethnographic approach, and conducting participatory/co-design research methods. He has participated in two symposia as part of the PDG, sharing their ethnographic work and results undertaken in Catalonia and Northern Europe. He also brings on the table novel research issues, such as the impact of worthy digital entertainment on older people’s positive and active ageing experiences.
