The NDGSCC (NDG Senior Citizen’s Council) Storytelling Workshop is an English-language digital audio project that aims to break social isolation by fostering a space for exchange, dialogue and self representation among senior participants and residents of NDGSCC’s Day Away Program. Under the direction of NDGSCC Creative Programming Coordinator Sherry Guppy, Jasmine Hewer (coordination support), and Ageing + Communication + Technologies’ (ACT) David Madden, participants take part in “Senior Storytelling and Audio Production Labs,” to produce short audio capsules that are distributed to other senior community members using MP3 players.
