Margarida Romero is an Assistant Professor in Educational Technologies at Université Laval in Québec (Canada). She holds a European Ph.D. in Educational Psychology by the Université de Toulouse UMR-CNRS France and Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in Spain (Extraordinary Ph.D. Award in Psychology) in the field of virtual teams in distance education. Her research interests are educational technologies in lifelong learning from a critical point of view. Her research has focused in the last years in Game Based Learning, Serious Games and Mobile Learning. She is an active member in the FP7 Network of Excellence Games and Learning Alliance (GaLA). Her research and teaching interests include also the educational technologies in primary, secondary and tertiary education. She was awarded with the 3rd price on Technology Transfer from the EU NoE Kaleidoscope in 2007, and the 1st price of the Artificial Intelligence French Association Award in 2006. In 2013 she received, as co-author, the Management Education and Development (MED) award of the Academy of Management (AOM) as co-author of a paper analysing the unlearning process from the learning sciences theories.
